As part of the presidential initiative "Decent Life," launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to improve the quality of life for the most needy groups and enhance social solidarity and sustainable development, Suez Canal University, represented by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, organized a distinguished event within the "Tour and See Our Tourist Attractions" initiative, in collaboration with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation.
The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of the University, with the general supervision of Dr. Dina Abu Al-Maati, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the supervision of Dr. Nevine Galal, Dean of the Faculty, and the executive supervision of Dr. Samar Mohamed Mosleh, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Coordinator of the initiative. A communal Iftar was organized for the children of Dar Al-Rahma Orphanage, celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan and welcoming Eid al-Fitr, coinciding with the celebrations of Orphan's Day.
The event took place last Friday, March 28, 2025, and was organized by Dr. Samar Mohamed Mosleh, the students of the faculty, and volunteers in an atmosphere filled with joy and warmth.
The day began with a football match between the students and the children of the orphanage, adding a touch of fun and positive interaction, followed by everyone gathering around the Iftar table in a scene reflecting the spirit of family and affection.
After Iftar, the students cleaned the place and prepared it for artistic competitions, where the children showcased their creative talents amid great encouragement and enthusiasm.
Sweets and gifts were distributed to all the children, adding a touch of joy and happiness to the event.
The day concluded with a visit to the amusement park, where the children enjoyed the games and recreational activities until 8:00 PM.
The event brought multiple benefits to the participants, enhancing the students' spirit of giving and social responsibility, developing their leadership and communication skills, and providing them with practical experiences in hospitality and event organization.
The experience also broadened their understanding of the importance of social integration and supporting the most needy groups.
For the children of Dar Al-Rahma, this initiative brought joy to their hearts, giving them an opportunity for social interaction in a supportive environment, boosting their self-confidence, and allowing them to discover their artistic talents and enjoy a special day outside the orphanage.
Such an event reflects the significant role played by Suez Canal University in supporting the community through impactful initiatives that achieve positive outcomes, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030, which aims to achieve social development and improve the living standards of all segments of society. This event embodies the values of solidarity and humanity, emphasizing the importance of continuing such initiatives that contribute to building a more cohesive and connected community.
